No, I don't have one either.

But I received an email from another Activerainer this morning who does have a video in his signature, and I couldn't resist clicking through to view it.  It just pulled me in like quicksand...

Meet Mario Jannatpour, talking about his book, The Honest Real Estate Agent.

As a prospective home buyer or seller, this video would probably inspire me to become Mario's client even though his book is targeted to other real estate agents.  It's pretty clear to me from watching this video that he "gets" what clients are looking for in an agent.

Great job, Mario!

I like the idea...but here is my issue...for those who set the junk mail blocker high...video can be considered junk mail so your message may never get seen.

Good point from Jeffrey. It's a neat idea but I think 4 minutes is a little long.

Jeffrey - I hear yah, but that's always a risk.  It didn't get filtered by my gmail account, and Mario is not in my address book.

Ellie - I thought the same thing, when I saw that... but once I started watching, it didn't bother me because he really did hold my attention.  If I were to do one, I'd have to keep it short because I don't think I can be that captivating.  LOL.

Don - Just another item for our "to-do" list, right?

I like the idea too... but it didn't hold my attention all the way through.  When he got to highlighting I was done... I think 2 minutes is long enough unless it's a home tour that someone clicked on to view a home.  Keep your message short.  I'd rather see two short messages than one long one.

I like the idea but not sure I would use in reality. Mainly for the reasons mentioned above....spam blocker and attention span. But you never know, I might try it down the line.

Interesting idea Margaret, We do know that video is getting attention.  I like emailing potential clients a video to introduce myself...

But I agree that it needs to be under 2 or 3 minutes...

It is a very interesting idea and 4 minutes is too long.  I did, however, like the softness and sincerity of his voice, it feels as though he really is an honest real estate agent.  It is a good idea as long as you have something important to say about yourself etc. and keep it short.

Hmmm, I like the idea of maybe linking to a video like this, but it seems a bit much to embed it into a signature. It's great how everyone is getting more comfortable creating videos, I feel like I'm finding more and more examples of this (though in the signature is a new one for me!)

Tammy - it was embedded but not the size in the blog post.  In fact, here's the actual size, on the right:

Larry - I just might have to try it, but making time is an issue...

Pam - 2 minutes or less is ideal, but this video kept my attention.

Mary - I agree.  Mario's voice is very soothing and pleasant.

Torgie - Please don't misunderstand... the embedded video is very small... about the size of a photo icon.
