Lake Charles LA Contraband Days Pirate Festival
That's right I said Pirate Festival! Jean Lafitte was a legendary pirate who is said to have frequented Lake Charles sailing the Lake Charles shores and who knows....maybe left buried "contraband" treasure! During Contraband Days, pirates seize the City of Lake Charles and fire cannons along the seawall capturing our Lake Charles Mayor, Randy Roach who is forced to walk the plank. This band of pirates would be the Lake Charles Buccaneers who dress in full pirate regalia and can be seen walking in the parades and along the Lake Charles seawall during the two weeks of Contraband Days.
There is sure to be lots of fun and festivities to be found along the new Lake Charles Boardwalk , Promenade, April 26-May 8th. Boating is a huge attraction during Contraband Days and you will see the Bord du Lac Marina full where friends come and go aboard the docked boats.
