Protection and Safety At Its Finest!

By
Real Estate Agent with Liberty Homes RS-#62825

We all know the drill on real estate and safety. There was an incident where an agent held an Open House and a 'nice' couple came in and while one distracted her the other one found her purse and stole her wallet.

After reading about that I got to thinking that it might be wise for me to have my husband drop me off at my Open Houses...and pick me up so I don't need to take my wallet with me. I have my SmartCard on a clip so I'm good.

So, for the first Open House (when this started) he drove me around and I'd jump out and put my signs out along the way. He'd pick them up along the way to pick me up and it turned out to be the greatest thing I have been appreciative of.

NOW...he gets out and puts the signs out so I don't get all sweaty before the Open House ....

.......and picks the signs up on his way to pick me up.   He also calls every hour to make sure I'm okay and I have my cell phone ready to speed dial 911 should anything come up.

This is just sheer heaven ....in this business.

A lot can happen in an hour.  I agree with George.  Hubby should stay with you.  You can't be too careful out there.  Everyone fees indestructible until it's too late.  Better safe than sorry.  Make him take you out to dinner so neither one of you has to cook.

That makes good sense, having him call like that! Open Houses can indeed be dangerous and it is a good idea to have taken steps to protect yourself. It only takes one time!

Hi Sally - Aren't husbands great when they help us like that?  Jon calls himself my sign man.  He drops me off at an open house and while I set up in the house, he puts out the signs.  He calls me a few times during the open just for security, and he comes back and picks up the signs and me when it's over.  About half the time we take two cars so I won't be stranded if he gets delayed, but the sign work is the biggest help ever (especially in the rain or in our 100+ weather)!

Sally, teamwork. Every real estate marriage has to work together for it to be a success. It's a shame that we even have to go through this. Hard times makes for crazy times. Please be safe.
