How do you get a featured post?

What are people doing to get a featured post?

I see so many people on here getting featured posts, and once upon a time I too had one. However, I had absolutely no idea how or why my post was featured. Are there certain criteria?

Any tips or ideas on how this happens would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks,

Nick

Cross your fingers and chant?  Not really  - it has do do with the ratings and flags at the bottom.  Hope it helps!

I would say it has to be interesting facts or stories about real estate. Something new and interesting has a better chance. I always think a photo helps. Many of my blogs are local content and tend to be very specific so I know they do not get featured.

Nick,

I wrote a post about this not long ago. How do I Make it to the Big Time, or something like that. I won't link it here because it's your blog, but you should go check it out. I would also recommend that you read the featured posts regularly to see what they look and feel like. Other than that, you need to develop your style of writing and attract an audience. It's almost a popularity contest. You have to attract them to your blog, hold their attention with your content, move them with your style and close the deal by getting them to interact with you.

Hope this helps.

Nick - I have no idea.  I assume (which is not smart) that the move people who "know you" and read your posts, are likely to "rate" it and it get's you featured.  I have never had a featured post either.  I am just learning.

Nick,

I wonder about that myself too. However, I have no clue of how the selection process is determined. I don't believe it is based on the points system as I have seen posts with under 2000 points get on FEATURED POSTING. I guess you have to smile alot! I'm doing my best as you can see from my picture! So far, no cigar. Maybe I should look a little more sexy to the AR board members. Hmmmm...
