Vasquez Rocks Natural Area Park was named after the notorious bandit Tiburcio Vasquez.

Tiburcio Vasquez used these amazing rocks as a hide out to escape from the authorities in 1873.

Just spectacular, Richard. I didn't realize you had scenery like that near LA - I think of this type of drama in Utah or Nevada, but I guess you are desert too nearby, right?

OK, that is cool history, clearly it was easy for him to use the rocks to hide. Must have studied them before hand so he could have the upper hand on the authorities.
