My Name Is Jerri and I am an Addict. I need help and I need it fast. I am HOOKED on the Decorah Eagles and I can't stop. There are three baby eagles in that nest and both the mom and dad are there off and on feeding those little cuties.
Don't tell me you haven't seen these. I mean really, I can't be the only one addicted to this live stream video. I have seen as many as 200,000 people on the site at one peak.It actually crashed the day the first egg hatched out.
I have lost so much sleep the last week watching the babies hatch out. And now they are being fed a variety of dead animals. Kind of scary the way they tear the animals apart. A musctrat, a duck, several fish and a rabbit are a few of the things I have seen. Normally this later development would have been enough to turn me off. The fish are alive when the parents land with them.
A birding friend of mine from Iowa just told me a few years back that an eagles nest came down in a storm that broke a tree it was in. They counted over 80 cat collars in the broken nest. I can hardly believe that I am still watching these birds. OMG!
And yet, it is so fascinating to see these little babies, hatched from eggs covered with white fur and beady black eyes. They chirp chirp chirp and hold their little mouths open for food. I almost thought I heard them saying cheap cheap cheap to their parents a few minutes ago as the parents fed on the carcasses of various animals and shared not a morsel! It was in this moment that I decided I had a problem and had to WALK AWAY!!!
Is there a support group that ANYONE knows of for the Decorah Eagle Live Web Cam??????
Soon the men in white jackets will be soothingly talking to me...
