Capital Area Metropolitan Planning Organization (CAMPO) is taking on two new road projects in Round Rock

Widening Sam Bass Rd.

This project is still in its design phase and will reconstruct Sam Bass Road to a four-lane divided urban arterial (east) from Meadows Drive to the IH 35 southbound frontage road.  In addition, the reconstruction of Chisholm Trail from 400 feet north of Sam Bass Road and reconstruction of the railroad crossing will also be included in the design.  The project will replace and/or relocate all water and wastewater lines, including services that are undersized, too shallow or in disrepair.  Estimated completion for this project is December 2008.

Widening FM 1460

This project will take the current two lane FM 1460 and widen it into a four-lane divided arterial roadway from US 79 north to Georgetown.  The project is scheduled to begin Fall 2007 and will be managed by TxDOT.
