Great post. I love all the new shops, restaurants and gathering places in the heart of Bethesda. I work in Bethesda and Chevy Chase and I agree with your assessments - though there are some cool neighborhoods like Brookdale (so close to Bethesda) where a totally remodeled single family home just went for under $800K. It was gutted and redone (on Merivale St). Indeed, just outside Bethesda, across the DC line, prices are more affordable, yet there are some great properties there in AU Park, for example, where one can walk to the Friendship Heights Metro.
