***UPDATE***  Bad weather is in the forecast for this Saturday, so Rims on the River has been moved to Sunday April 16th!  The FREE concert will take place on Sunday at 2pm!  ***UPDATE***

Rims on the River, an annual event in Downtown Wilmington NC takes place this weekend!

Last years event saw nearly 600 cars and motorcycles, this year promises to be even bigger!  All vehicles are pre-1980.  Mothers Car Show will be at Rims on the River this year, filming for a future broadcast! 

Plenty to see and do and admission is FREE! 

SCHEDULE OF EVENTS

Friday, April 15: The pre-event parties are happening at numerous venues in Downtown Wilmington.  Check the website for locations and times.

Saturday, April 16:  Cars will start lining up at 9am.  Car Show begins at 11am and continues all day.  The Awards ceremony takes place at Bailey Theater Park at 4pm.  Rims on the River Free Concert will be held at Riverfront Park across from the Federal Building on the Cape Fear River.  Headliner this year is Tuesday's Gone, a Skynyrd tribute band.  Show begins at 5:30pm with warm-up acts Machine Gun, and The Noseriders.

Sunday, April 17: Rims on the River Hot Rod Lunch and Brunch features dining at favorite downtown restaurants including Front Street Brewery, Dixie Grill, and Hell's Kitchen.

Once again Rims on the River will be hosting "The Corral".   Anyone wishing to sell their vehicle, will check the appropriate space on the sign up form, bring their own "For Sale" sign, and be able to sell their car in this promoted area, no fees!  "The Corral" will be located at the corner of Princess and Water Streets. 

The event will be located south on Front Street down to Orange Street, and Front Street to Cape Fear Community College.
