San Ramon Homeowners Thank Us for Putting Signs in Their Yards

starbucks logoImagine two homeowners on the same day chasing you down to thank you for putting your directional sign for your open house in their yards. Stranger than fiction? Not really. Here’s our formula for prospecting while putting our signs out.

  • Knock on the Door
  • Introduce Myself
  • Ask Permission
  • Chat a Bit & Place Sign
  • Hold Open House - Return & Pick up Sign
  • Send a thank you card with a $5 Starbucks gift card

When I ran across SendOutCards about two years ago I thought – this is too good to be true – this company was created just for me. SendOutCards, via your browser, lets you choose from thousands of stock greeting cards. You choose one, fill in your message and they:

  • Print It
  • Stuff It in an Envelope
  • Mail It

What makes this a really great product is:

  • Upload your handwriting so when you type – it prints in your handwriting
  • Create custom cards for your business – use them once or a zillion times
  • Upload images into the card
  • Create unique signatures
  • Insert Gift Cards from major retailers like Starbucks, Home Depot, Bed, Bath& Beyond
  • Contact Manager
  • Send cards from anywhere in the world with a couple of clicks
  • Set up drip campaigns

This is the card we send to people with a Starbucks gift card included thanking them for allowing us to put our signs in their yard. This card cost about a dollar which includes postage but not the cost of the gift card.

If you haven’t heard of SendOutCards check them out. If you would like to send a card to yourself to see how it works let me know and I will set up a sample account for you to do so. SOC – helping us to win the hearts, minds and BUSINESS of our San Ramon neighbors.

Those $5 Starbucks cards are a great marketing tool. An agent in Las Vegas sends them to showing agents who respond promptly to their online request for feedback. And I imagine if you have a few open houses in the same neighborhood you develop some pretty good relationships with people, as well as establishing your team as the experts.
