Chicago-based real estate company Dream Town Realty is the first in the country to offer a Groupon for buying or selling a home. The social coupon website Groupon featured the deal on its Home & Garden page this week.
The deal, which offers $1000 cash at closing for $25, was unveiled Friday, April 8th. It had enough purchases to satisfy the 50-buyer minimum by 2:35pm on the day it launched. The deal offers a 98% discount that saves purchasers $975, according to the Groupon site.
Seeing as it is the first Groupon offer of its kind, this deal quickly made headlines among local media outlets and real estate blogs. The Chicago Tribune, Crain’s, Iman News, WBBM Radio, Channel 5 News, Channel 7 News and countless websites had stories about Dream Town’s Groupon offer.
