10 Key Goal Setting Points

  1. Set realistic goals within a specific time frame (it helps if this is in writing)
  2. Goals should be specific and clear
  3. Determine the purpose of your goals and their achievement benefits; write them next to your goal
  4. Set specific strategies for accomplishing each goal
  5. Set target dates for self evaluation
  6. Periodically visualize your goal, as well as your strategies for accomplishing the goal
  7. List potential obstacles to attaining the goal (see my other blog on time management)
  8. List strategies for overcoming obstacles
  9. Follow through on all strategies
  10. Have an accountability partner to discuss obstacles and ways to overcome them, as well as review accomplishments towards the goal.

Make sure that your accountability partner is someone you like so that you can bop him on the head when he tries to make you work too hard! J♪♫♫♪

they are so important and to have them written down and visualize is equally important. I believe you have to have a way to measure your progress.
