I have a Hawaii real estate license, so I am in Honolulu on vacation and decided to attend the broker open walking tour for my broker at Waikiki Real Estate.

It was so interesting and physically challenging to do this tour. I cannot understand how retired people live in Honolulu. You have to walk so far just to go from your car to your condo. The amilboxes are at least 3 blocks.

I also was very surprised by how noisy it is so high up. Also, so many units do not have outdoor verandas and the agents tell us people do not use them anyway.

Compared to La Quinta with the beauty, space, amenties, and peace and quiet, I am confused why people would live and work in Honolulu?

I've been there and the crowds are unbelievable.  If I were to ever live in Hawaii I'd live on Maui.  Or, I could just stay in California!  Good idea! :)
