Sturbridge Single Family Home Sales
As the charts show, Sturbridge real estate sales peaked in 2004, and single family home prices peaked in 2005. From 2005 to 2009, we felt the real estate market slide. And in 2010, we started to see signs of stabilization, with a slight uptick in average sale price.
Sturbridge Condominium Sales
Condominium sales show a pattern similar to single family home sales. Condo sales peaked in 2006, and average condominium sale price peaked in 2005. From 2006 to 2009, condominium sales in Sturbridge fell. And in 2010, we started to see condominium sales stabilize.

Summary
Real estate sales in 2011 will be closely watched, by property owners as well as professionals in the industry. Stabilization of the real estate market often goes hand-in-hand with stabilization of the economy; however, there are other large factors at play. Mortgage interest rates, unemployment, political climate and acts of nature can all have an impact on the recovery of the real estate market.
