Blogging about Bloggers (who explain why they blog)

By

why do I blog? let me count the reasons.

It seems, and I imagine appropriately so that most "bloggers" blog because it's part of their marketing plan.

Okay, that makes sense.

"the rain" supports this idea, I believe, as they are constantly posting pictures of members holding checks, with big smiles on them. The big smiles are on the members, not the checks, just to be clear.

Personally I find that a little tacky, but that's just me. "The Rain" has been berry, berry good to me, and yes it is part of my marketing plan, and yes it works very well, and yes it is responsible for a portion of my income. So while I was a tad critical in calling the check promotion tacky, on the other hand I owe "The Rain," at least one (probably more have been earned) big thank you. So

THANK YOU!!!!!

I do hope though that others, like say Verizon, don't follow suit, and show a client holding a smart phone in one hand and a check in the other, saying I got a call, text, email, whatever and...

I do believe though that Bloggers also blog for other reasons.

One would be to be helpful and supportive. The very fact that successful bloggers would address the issue shows that they want to reinforce the value of blogging and the benefits available.

kinda altruistic

that's actually very admirable, in my opinion.

Bloggers also address key issues, and give help to others (as just pointed out)

that's pretty much self explanatory I believe, so I'll just leave it at that.

Also, Bloggers, at least here on "The Rain," spend time reading and answering comments, and reaching out to other bloggers.

let's face it, here on "The Rain," we've been spoiled by the incredible system which brings us all of this information and help, plus helps us to generate additional income.

that's actually pretty cool

so to all my fellow Rainers, I would like to say

thanks

and today, I guess, I'm just a

Blogger blogging, about why Bloggers blog

Barbara,

good morning

i can't disagree. it's a powerful tool, as we both believe, and not to take advantage of it, in my opinion, is a serious offense.

thanks,

jay

Jenn,

I agree. this truly is an incredible, and powerful system. I left out the impact of the "google juice." but without a doubt google also loves the rain and will reward you for being a member, and blogging. but that's a post by itself.

thanks

Jay,

I blog for so many reasons. One of which is because I actually like to blog! But Active Rain is not my only blogging venue (or I would have a lot more posts here:) and sometimes it feels like all I do is blog...:)   Or that I "have" to blog!

I need to decide between being a blogger or a Real Estate Agent!   Is there a way to do both and not get overwhelmed?

Personally, I enjoy the ineraction with other agents from other markets. Networking is ALWAYS a good thing, and then general support that we give each other here on active rain is very inspirational

Karen,

you don't have to, you choose to. if it's part of your marketing plan than it's part of your Real Estate Agent DNA, not separate from it.

if multiple blogging platforms are too overwhelming, choose (there's that word again) that which is the most successful and go with it. As part of the decision google yourself, and see where your active rain profile shows up.

thanks and good luck

Donald,

i enjoy it also, and literally i've spoken online and on the phone with people all over the U.S.A. as a result of my being a "Rainer." you gotta love it.

thanks
