Our Impact. Do you think it is possible to raise $20,000 for a parking lot through Internet communication? We are seeking advisement from those of you who may know of grant funding for churches.

Do you see it?

Every time I drive by my church home, I see a mural. I shared my "vision" with the pastoring couple at Grace Fellowship. (It is my responsibility now to find an artist who is willing to help us with a mural, because I was the one with the original vision:-)Do you know a local artist who may be willing to donate their talent? The church's theme message is Empowerment through education. We want to convey restoration of the soul, finances, and health. Most in this immediate community are extremely poor. A mission of the church is to change the reputation of the neighborhood, clean it up and help make it a testimony. "God Reigns!"

 Pastors Felix and Jocelyne Williams.

Reverend McClain, one of the most dynamic Christian teachers you will ever meet. I look forward to study time spent with him.

This is our parking lot. Pastoring Couple, Felix and Jocellyne Williams want it to be paved so badly that they are hosting a fundraiser dinner, with Pastor Felix cooking himself. If every ticket sold out, the net profit would run around $1800. We are looking at approximately $20,000.00 for the parking lot. I appreciate a Pastor willing to roll up his own sleeves to achieve ministry goals... However, if we found some support to achieve the goals then he could attend to what he does best--Dynamic preaching and teaching. We have a willing congregation, but we are small in # right now. The church is serving a low and no income neighborhood, so at this time tithes and donations from within the body aren't stretching far enough.

Do you know anyone that would be willing to loan 12 round 4 ft tables for the event?

Do you know of any volunteers that would be willing to assist with the event?

Do you know of any grants that might be available for local church ministry projects?

Grace fellowship on the Coast has always done the Community Lunch on Wednesdays. Now they are assuming the ministry of Katrina's Kitchen. We desperately need reliable local volunteers. Do you know of anyone that can help on a consistent basis?

The unveiling of a new community watch sign. These are some community members that Grace Fellowship ministers to.

Can you help this ministry? Goals are to feed the hungry; as in Wednesday free lunch and taking over Katrina's Kitchen; Empower through community involvement and education "Life skills as well as Christian foundation".

*A note about how I became involved--I had become a bit apathetic in Christian walk and was not involved in a church. One morning Pastor Felix gave me a call because he was interested in seeing a house I had listed. At least he thought that's why he called. (I think it was God's call to me). When I met Pastors Felix and Jocelyne Williams I volunteered to attend a service as I was not affiliated. I have not missed a praise and worship service since that time and attend almost every bible study. The music ministry and teachings are some of THE most dynamic and scripturally based I have ever encountered.

Pastor Felix has had offers of sweet salaries including parsonages. Still, his ministering partner supports him 125% in staying with this impoverished community, sometimes not even knowing where the next dollar for utilities is coming from.

In passing, I would like to share that one of the best aspects of the teaching in this church is that there is a reason for everything. The Gospel is explained in a logical fashion backed up with scripture. Even the new members class is enlightening for new Christians as well as those transfering in. We know why we gather together, our purpose, we know why we lift our hands, why we sing, why use instruments....

The Sun is coming up--gotta go for my beach walk. I'll check in later.

It isamazing. I laugh to think of my assault on Mississippi. I was driving from Florida back to Colroado and took the scenic hwy 90 route. I was smitten. I went home and convinced my husband to move here. We paid cash for a modest home, and was just getting straightened out from our move, when we had to evacuate for Katrina. Coming back to that was inexpressable. I think everyone here, especially volunteers has PTSD.

Back to the church--I had considered visiting Pre-Katrina, but never made it. It was under a different name then. (I think I was thinking its such a small church... ) I wish you guys could visit and catch one of the sermons and hear Ms Jocelyne sing.

I am so blessed. I truly feel loved and accepted by the church body, in turn the church body is so easy to love.

Can you guys do me a favor? Look at the top picture of the church. What do you see on the wall? The Pastors burning desire is for the church to be known by its love. The mission as stated above, is not to be a give away center, but an empowerment center.

In closing good night. I will accept your extended blessing and run with it:-) May the both of you be as richly blessed.

Suzi, I wish I was local! Before real estate, I was a mural artist. I will pray specifically for God to send someone to do it. You never know...He may tell me to go!!! Blessings! Elizabeth

Suzi- I will pray that God sends you a muralist. I think it's awesome that you would share how you came into fellowship with your church. You obviously have been fed well, and it shows in the dedication and support that you have shown. God Bless You!

Everybody--I emailed a link to the Pastors. They are encouraged just by your comments. Sometimes it takes so little to keep people going.

Keith and Robin, your perception is correct. Plus+

That is a church on a mission! I love how they are wanting to take a poor nieghborhood and educate them on God's abundance! You sure have a great vision, and I know God will raise up the volunteers needed! A very sefless act of love being performed in your neck of the woods!
