AAADD- KNOW THE SYMPTOMS

Thank goodness there's a name for this disorder.

Somehow I feel better, even though I have it!!

Recently, I was diagnosed with A.A.A.D.D. -

Age Activated Attention Deficit Disorder.

This is how it manifests:

I decide to water my garden.

As I turn on the hose in the driveway,

I look over at my car and decide it needs washing.

As I start toward the garage,

I notice mail on the porch table that

I brought up from the mail box earlier.

I decide to go through the mail before I wash the car.

I lay my car keys on the table,

put the junk mail in the garbage can under the table,

and notice that the can is full.

So, I decide to put the bills back

on the table and take out the garbage first.

But then I think,

since I'm going to be near the mailbox

when I take out the garbage anyway,

I may as well pay the bills first.

I take my check book off the table,

and see that there is only one check left.

My extra checks are in my desk in the study,

so I go inside the house to my desk where

I find the can of Coke I'd been drinking.

The Coke is getting warm,

and I decide to put it in the refrigerator to keep it cold.

As I head toward the kitchen with the Coke,

a vase of flowers on the counter

catches my eye--they need water.

I put the Coke on the counter and

discover my reading glasses that

I've been searching for all morning.

I decide I better put them back on my desk,

but first I'm going to water the flowers.

I set the glasses back down on the counter,

fill a container with water and suddenly spot the TV remote.

Someone left it on the kitchen table.

I realize that tonight when we go to watch TV,

I'll be looking for the remote,

but I won't remember that it's on the kitchen table,

so I decide to put it back in the den where it belongs,

but first I'll water the flowers.

I pour some water in the flowers,

but also spill some on the floor.

So, I set the remote back on the table,

get some towels and wipe up the spill.

Then, I head down the hall trying to

remember what I was planning to do.

At the end of the day:

the car isn't washed

the bills aren't paid

there is a warm can of Coke sitting on the counter

the flowers don't have enough water,

there is still only 1 check in my check book,

I can't fin d th e remote,

I can't find my glasses,

and I don't remember what I did with the car keys.

Then, when I try to figure out why nothing got done today,

I'm really baffled because I know I was busy all damn day,

and I'm really tired.

I realize this is a serious problem,

and I'll try to get some help for it,

but first I'll check my e-mail....

Do me a favor.

Forward this message to everyone you know,

because I don't remember who the hell I've sent it to.

Don't laugh -- if this isn't you yet, your day is coming!!

Forgot to put this was an e-mail a dear friend sent to me and I just had to share it with everyone else. I couldn't keep my smiles just to myself and wanted to share. I'm sure everyone can relate to this at one time or another.

Charity,

It made me smile because I've been there myself a few times.

few! reading that just made me tired trying to keep up with all the different things you were starting to do but never did! Drives me crazy.  I think the best way around all of that is to just do nothing all day, that way at the end of the day you can't say I didn't do this, this and this; you can just say I had nothing to do and nothing got done! :)

I'm worn out by reading this blog!  I'm reading this blog then I'll pay my bills, then I'll... well you get the idea.  Think I'll take a nap first, I'm exhausted.

This is so true!  What age did we become this? I don't remember.  I think it was when I gave birth to my twins 12 years ago.

Shannon, Kristen and Judy - One of my dear friends sent this silly e-mail to me and it reminded me of myself somedays. I try to always have a to do list to keep me on task but sometimes little things like my coffee cup come up missing for hours! Thank goodness I've never forgotten anything really important (like the kiddos)!

Glad I could make all of you smile! Have a wonderful day!

It's a good life!

My girlfriend something similar to me a few months back. It's great to see it again I laughed just as hard.

Allison - I don't have a street sign but that's a GREAT IDEA! Do you know where I can get one made? Everyone always tells me what a great name I have for being in Real Estate.

Chrissi - I posted this a while ago and every time I look back at updated comments it always makes me smile. My friends always find the cutest things to send to me and I thought this was very appropriate to send to all of my Realtor friends. Glad I could make you smile again! Have a great day! :o)

This is so me!!  Kinda sad but very funny.  Guess it happens to the best of us!!

Charity

I can really relate to your day and that would be a "slow" day right. Not one involving kids car pools , homework assignments, birthday parties , a listing appoinment and/or Buyers interview !!!!!

Looking at your picture I can only tell you it gets worse as the years go by , but by then you are at an age where you don't care. I am speaking from experience !!!

Kay - you can be age activated anything ... aren't we both still 27? :o)

Teri - this can be me on days when I am just at home too. seems like I am never as productive as my working days.

Christy - glad you liked it! I think you are right even the most organized people can have their days!

Laura - Thanks for the compliment ... I may be older than I look though. My oldest daughter is in High School! I do seem to be getting more and more forgetfull the older I get for the little things.

Julie - Welcome, glad I could give you something funny to read. Have a great day!

Tracy - When you find a Dr that will do a note for you please share ... somedays I would like a vacation too. I love my work but other things like grocery shopping and laundry would be wonderful to have a doctors note for!
