Sofa pileup on Hwy 78, Summerville, SC - finally cleared up!

A couple of weeks ago I wrote about a sofa pileup here in Summerville: 15 Sofa pileup off of HWY 78 in Summerville, SC. Our warehouse was getting precariously full after a rush of staged properties selling the first couple of months this year.  Since I did the original blog, we've staged about 10 vacant homes (and unstaged a couple more).

First Impressions

We actually still ended up buying furniture for 3 vacant luxury listings (just didn't have the "right" stuff to do them justice).

Finally though, aisles and racks are clear.  My warehouse assistant is a happy girl as everything is not willy nilly like it was before.   There is a little more order to the chaos.  There are even huge open spaces at the front and backside of the warehouse!

Now that there is finally space in the warehouse, it's time to get cleaned and organized.  Thankfully I already have an intern who is great at organizing.... I've already had her start on the pillows....

Melissa- I can't imagine having a storage space of any size much less one the size of yours.  No wonder your stagings are so picture perfect!

HI Melissa - I have to agree with Kathy on this! What an enormous space and huge amount of staging furniture. It's great that it's all getting re-organized for you.

Melissa, I do wish my house looked as tidy as your staging warehouse does!

Kathy & Judy - thankfully we pretty much always have at least 35 homes staged at any given time so actually compared to the amount of inventory we have, it's pretty small.  We did move to a larger space last summer, but after only 1 year we've added so much furniture that we already feel like we are outgrowing the space!

Patricia - lol.... really it's a wreck - but then so is my house most of the time.  I sort of chalk it up to the cobblers kids having no shoes.  The last thing I usually feel like working on is the warehouse or my house when I'm done working.

How refreshing to see other warehouses fall into this state! We recently moved our warehouse to bigger premises as we'd had the same issue you mentioned, higher end property with not quite the right items in stock. We also realised at one point that the warehouse was near full with almost 8 houselots out, that's a lot of space needed if everything comes back.

Thanks for sharing this.

Cheers

Adam
