I think it's a little too late for the banking. The vast majority of the banking system has flushed out the garbage over the past 3yrs. I think oversite is great but a witch hunt is just going to make this whole mess drag on even longer.

@John: Such comments are exactly the type of illogical propaganda that the criminal banking syndicates would like to dupe the American people into believing.

The fact is that MASSIVE CRIMES have occurred. It is NOT a "witch-hunt" to go after legitimate and known criminals.

At least 90% of boards of directors and senior executives of the criminal banking syndicates either sanctioned, or directly participated in widespread fraud that brought about the virtual collapse of the US housing market. Estimates range from 30%-60% of ALL lower level employees of the criminal banking syndicates were also complicit in fraudulent activities.

By any notion of justice, tens-of-thousands of legitimate, bona-fide criminals need to be prosecuted, stripped of all ill-gotten assets, and imprisoned.

Anything less is a gross injustice, and a moral outrage.

If we prosecute all the fat-cat bankers and put them in jail, who is going to run the fat-cat banks that provide mortgages and loans to small businesses? Anyone who takes a fat-cat job becomes, themselves, a fat cat. It’s not the fat-cat bankers who are at fault, it’s the system.

@Russel: Scum is scum. I am not and will never be scum. I live in this scummy system, yet choose not to be scum. Those who condone scum are no better than scum.

I will not lower my standards in order to appear to "go along to get along." That is what they said in Stalin era Russia and Nazi era Germany. That is what they said in the south as innocents were lynched for nothing more than the color of their skin.

It is a dangerous attitude that you present and I pray to God that there are stronger men and women whom are willing to stand up for the principles of justice, equal opportunity, and fairness.
