Is the housing market suffering from “pejoration”?

By
Managing Real Estate Broker with Fathom Realty PB00068179

I’ll ask the question and you tell me about your market.  Here in NW Arkansas we are not having this problem as much as the rest of the country but it does rear its head from time to time.  I’m sure as the new batch of foreclosures hit the market this situation will change and we’ll cope with it.  The meaning of (pej’e ra’shen) a worsening; depreciation.  I for one will deal with it and move on.  There will be agents for one reason or another who will turn in their license.  While I would hate for this to happen on one hand looking at the other it will lead to more listings and sells for me.  What’s your opinion?

Good morning James, as inspections have been hurt by the current housing market. The problems I run into is the "waivers" being signed by the buyers at the advice of the agent. I am having some

"Pejoration" within the inspection industry.

Best of luck me friend.

Is the glass half full or half empty. If your view it is half full you will find opportunity. If your view is half empty, the market is worsening. What's your point of view? James, your view is obviously half full and you have your hand on the pitcher. Enjoy the day!!

James - just as real estate values are experiencing a correction so too is the real estate industry and our ranks are thinning.  Many who have previously quit working are finally leaving the business and others who are not equipped to function in this market are also leaving.

Good morning James!

I decided to come into this business knowing it was the worst time. The way I looked at it: it is the best time to learn! ... I am here for the long haul and I am a very optimistic person. This too, shall pass!

I have no problem with agents who jumped in in 2007 leaving.  This is a tough business and you have to be tough to stay in it.  The days of show 4 houses and ask the buyers to pick one are over.

You are right about those leaving the business but maybe they should develop some intestinal fortitude and do what it takes to do the business.
