Tammy, This is one subject I think I will let you do the driving!
Good advice, here, and something we are often too busy to check up on...thank you!
I wish I hadn't used up all my nudges already today! Excellent tips, advice, and general knowledge Tammy.
thanks Rob! Working on it :)
Thank you Li. It is hard to keep track when you are busy selling real estate. And so many don't understand all the details and must trust.. It can be a bit scary.
Anita, Ahh well, hit it tomorrow... HA! :) thanks Chica! :)

Tammy,
One benefit of paying a little more for a Virtual Private Server, all that is on my site is my stuff.
That certainly is a GREAT benefit Mike! :)

Good info Tammy, especially since my current site is framed into my hosts site which is problematic for the reasons you mentioned above and many other reasons.
One being I am currently building a new website and once it's live, I will literally have to go back and revise many links because when I linked key words within my blogs to pages on my website, the page url had the hosts name combined in the linked url. Ugh. I need a VA for that task alone!
Now I have to back and study my site. Fortunately I know html so reading the page source might make it easier. Well maybe.
Great advice, Tammy For some of my outbound links (to complementary partners) I took out the links and just provided the web address instead to reduce outbound links.
Ya ya who is going to do it, can barely keep track of my kar in the parking lot. No good help is available these days!
Andi, the nice thing about starting with a fresh site that is all your own is you can set it up right from the beginning and that is sometimes really fun! :)
Maya, Great! Just check the links and urls on your site and make sure it's all you! :)
Debbie, thats actually a great idea. But Google does see if you are linking out and considers that good to some extent. It means that your site well rounded and servicable for many things, not just what you provide. That can actually be beneficial. :)
Deepak, HA! Your ok Deepak. Your site is set up correctly.. This one I was with yesterday was completely not. You're good.. just KEEP BLOGGING! Don't give up!!! :)

Good infomation. I took a "create your own web site" class recently. The teacher brought up alot of the same points.
Tammy ~ your wealth of knowledge and expertise never ceases to amaze me. All that techie talk is WAY over my head!
I need to go back and study our site too..both you and Victoria have given me some huge SEO tips to think about this weekend. Thanks!!
It's really nice having you around because you always provide such great content and ideas. I've always felt that any link had to open into a window so they are still in my site when they close that window. You took this a few steps further and I will go in and try to fix some of these flaws. Thanks for the helpful info.
Hi Tammy,
I LOVE your writing style. I don't know what it is, but your posts are easy to read, nicely laid out and always enjoyable.
Thanks, as always
Phil
Greg, thats great! It's helpful to hear it several times from different perspectives to really let it sink in.
Dawn, thanks, but I still hope it's clear?
Lynda, Thanks, She does know her stuff! :)
Doug, thank you! What a great compliment!
Phil, Wonderful! I don't want to write where people can't understand.. what's the point of that! Ha... Just sent you an email also.

I wonder since we are paying for the site if we can charge them to advertise on our site or ask them to remove the link.

Heck ya! Todd!! It makes perfect sense to me. I'll let you design my site and display your wares but you must pay me... or maybe a "let's call it even" kind of deal.. ha!
