-The Blue Note will be hosting The Jazz Crusaders all weekend. The three-piece featuring Wayne Henderson (trombone), Wilton Felder (tenor saxophone/bass) and Joe Sample (piano) formed in 1961, but achieved greater success as a crossover group in the late 1970s under the moniker “The Crusaders.” The group has reformed recently with a more traditional jazz bent. Early show is at 8 p.m.; late show is at 10:30 p.m.

- Every night, the Fat Cat hosts a late-night jam session with some of the city’s most respected and talented jazz musicians. This Saturday, the session is led by pianist Alan Jay Palmer, who has performed with such greats as Roy Hargrove and Curtis Fuller. The Sunday session will feature the bass/drum combo of Renee Cruz and Brandon Lewis. Also, tonight’s lineup features Naomi Shelton & the Gospel Queens, who will be performing at the Bonaroo Music & Arts Festival this year. Naomi Shelton & the Gospel Queens perform tonight at 9 p.m. Jam sessions take place every night at 1:30 a.m.

-Every Friday is African Jazz night at the Zinc Bar. Tonight, the featured performer is Kofo the Wonderman, who is performing in support of his latest record Proof. On Saturday night, the Brazilian vocalist Marianni stops by for a night that will feature bossa nova and samba performances, as well as some popular American tunes. All performances begin at 10 p.m., with encore sets at 11:30 p.m. and 1 a.m.
