I hate to harp on spelling, but sometimes it gets aggravating when you are reading a post and you have to mentally correct the spelling.  I am not going to go into great lengths with this post, but I certainly hope that it makes sense to anyone that they might need to double check for spelling errors before writing a blog on AR.   Here is a tip:  type your blog in Microsoft Word, then run spell check and edit as needed before you post it to AR.  You can also use the spell-checker feature on here.  Sorry if anyone is offended by this, but occasionally it helps to be reminded that your posts are being read by a large audience.

Bruce, this just doesn't make any cents two me.  I'm always a good speller.  I can't bear the thought that others aren't as good as US!

Eye just wanted too show that spell check doesn't always work!  Some Tymes, ewe got to no when to use the proper words

I am laughing Marci!!  I had to write this, because I just read a post where I was actually feeling embarrassed for the writer.  Oh well....at least I vented.

Of coarse your write. Im about crazy from fixxing typoes mentally. But I fear your also spiting into the wind.
Seriously... I think that it is, in most cases, that the writers have no idea. "You're"? Isn't it "your"?

And hey---while I'm at it, you only need one space between sentences, because this is a proportional typeface here on AR. ;) There was a whole blog post about that a couple days ago.

(Hey, the spell-checker here thinks "blog" is a misspelling!)

Although I am certain that I needed to hear this message as much as anyone, I can honestly say that I can spell...I just can't type and, therefore, I am quite often guilty of said charge due to a manual dexterity problem. It does strike me as supremely ironic that the spell checker for the world's largest real estate blog does not know how to spell"blog". Am I the only one who finds this amusing in the extreme.

I am guilty as charged.  I think I can spell so I don't need any stinkin' spell checker!  :)

I agree with you James....what's up with the AR spell checker that doesn't recognize "BLOG!"

Once we get all the spelling problems fixed, then we can turn to the one thing that really sets my teeth on edge:
"I'm a RE-LUH-TER."

You are, eh? What's that? You relate?

"No, no, I'm an agent."

Oh, you mean you're a RE-AL-TOR! Good! I didn't think you were in the RE-LUH estate business.

After that, I'm going after "repour." There's no "e" in RA-pour, or as we spell it, "rapport." It's not "report," it's not "repor," it's... oh, heck, never mind. Once you start down this path...

Bruce, I'm a retired teacher and I dislike the spelling errors as much as you do.  However, I must admit that sometimes when I read over my blogs or comments - I see errors!!!  (Ah if only I could circle them in red - LOL)  Should have used spell check like you suggested.  Betty

Bruce:  I support your post, and am happy that you've received positive comments.  I recently discussed the same topic, but was apparently offensive to at least one person.  You might be interested in reading this thread one day when you're bored.

   Cheers! from DC...

Enjoyed your post Jaynee!!  I think it is our duty to keep the grammar polished on here.  I know some people could care less, and I realize I make mistakes as well.  But, I have to reiterate that we are posting to a very large audience.  Good luck!!

That is an excellent idea - I'm disappointed I wasn't smart enough to think of it by myself, but I'll use the idea anyway.  Thank you very much - I'm both a bad speller and bad typist, Karen

Great topic-I know I am sometimes guilty of posting without proofing. I have found this usually happens when I type directly into a blog rather than in MS word first. I think I get excited about what I'm saying and forget about the impression this makes on others. My biggest pet peeve is that the media uses the phrase he or she "went missing"-where is that exactly?

Bruce,

Good reminder. We all appreciate having the spell check for our posts and comments. And AR has made it so easy to use.
