Not Everything Bigger in Texas....Not Even Longhorns!

The Denton Record Chronicle reports that there is a Denton County, Texas couple (the Bucks) that is successfully breeding miniature longhorn cattle. Yes, you heard me right...the ever so famous and majestic symbol of of Texas...the Longhorn.

The size of these animals are about half the size (about 400 lbs) of a normal size (up to 800 lbs) longhorn, but not surprisingly, this couple grabs twice as much for these cattle. "The more colorful they are and the smaller they are, the more we ask for them," Mr. Buck said. "You just fall in love with them," Mrs. Buck said. "You watch them and they entertain, and they do their little play tag and chase each other."

Diana, say it ain't so...Texan's breeding Longhorns to be smaller???  What's this world coming too???

Seriously, I don't quite understand it...is the value of the animal still in the meat or the novelty?  What am I missing here?
