The poularity of yoga continues to grow and friend and yoga teacher Disha Mattive has found a creative way tt introduce the 5000 year old welneess practice to "tween girls."
Using the theme of Girl's Night Out, she is drawing sell-out crowds to the different yoga centers where she teaches in Chester county.
Parents seem to love this healthy activity for their daughters as it teaches them about taking care of body , mind and spirit, collectively and individually.
Beginning practice in a "Sangha" (Community) circle, to center and warm up the body, Disha Mattive's program moves through a series of standing poses, includng a goddess asana.
Props included scarves made from vintage saris were perfect for one or two Bollywood dance moves which gets the heart pumping.
Too cool down and develope trust, partner poses.
Aromatherapy enhances the experience. Scents included Geranium oil which balances and comforts; Orange oil, which promotes happiness and warmth; and Lavender oil which is calms and relaxes.
Each girl picked a scent they liked best and created an aromatherapy mister bottle, decorated with stickers and ribbons, to take home.
Refueled with refreshments the evening closed with Sivasan, complete with cucumber slices over the eyes and lavender scented washcloths!
