Victoria, Saanich, Esquimalt, Real Estate Investing, Moving To VictoriaExploring Greater Victoria, ........ One Page at the Time.

Over the past weeks and months we have researched, collected, read and enjoyed many bits and pieces of the Rich and Diverse history and story about the Greater Victoria area.

In doing so we found a wealth of information and stories about Victoria, the people, places and events that have formed and shaped our  Community. As we are reading we become more and more excited about sharing information about our little corner of Paradise. In this article we shall show you some of the book covers and lift the covers on some of the stories these books inform us about.

No worries, we are not going back in the book business, and there will not be any "sales links"  although in some case we might provide some links to additional information and or resources. On the other hand the "bookwurm" in Peter and Linda, is always looking for new and interesting ways to share Greater Victoria with our Readers and Visitors.

To get to know a little more about Greater Victoria's history, without reading an entire library of books, we suggest some of the many books about Victoria with great snapshots highlighting key areas all over the Greater Victoria Community
For Example :

Victoria A history in PhotograpghsVictoria a History in Photographs by Peter Grant
Published in 1995, but should be easily available on line and or locally at any of the new and 2nd hand bookstores.
As the titles indicates lots of great historic pictures and short stories about places and events in and around Greater Victoria, with stories about the Inner Harbour, Emily Carr,  as well as a story about the collapse (in 1896) of the Point Ellice Bridge, while transporting 60 people in a street car across the wooden bridge.... This one story tells us a lot about life in  Victoria over one hundred years ago.... complete with "streetcars" "old bridges" and concerns about public transportation...... It is interesting to read that more than 100 years later, not much has really changed.........
this book is about 110 pages and is a great journey through the History of our Community.
