Amazing, you can barely see em. We need to incorporate natural surroundings and wild life habitat as we build.

Mara, the camouflage employed by this little guy has probably saved him from a few predators...and allowed hid stealthy approach when he's the hunter.

Mara, more lizards have made their way to our area, with I think warming years over the last 20. I do love the camouflage. They blend in so well.

Cindy - glad you could appreciate "the blend" :-)

David - I've always loved the blending of natural surroundings into our own habitats; nature certainly teaches us good design principles.

Jenn - Well, as I've mentioned, this was a photo my son took (and he was trying to spot this endangered creature!) I don't think I would have done so well.

Steve - camouflage is the best tactic for staying unseen and safe

Gary - I'm not a fan of lizards, but they are fascinating, and also amazing descendents from the dinosaurs!

Bruce - thanks for stopping by and enjoying this photo

Paul - I was impressed that there are programs & funding to be on the lookout for this sort of thing. I need to find a pic of a gopher tortoise.

It's amazing to see the camouflage that so many creatures have to help them survive - almost all their predators.

Interesting that they are doing land development and found this hard-to-see creature.  Good thing it was captured by an astute surveyor to save the species!

Whenever I see lizards I get tickled thinking about how scared my husband is of them.  Snakes don't bother him but lizards freak him out.  I think they are neat......like baby dinosaurs.
