The 2011 "Earth Day Celebration" on the Leonardtown Square will be held today, Sunday, April 17, 2011 from 12:30 PM to 4:30 PM. The Earth Day event has expanded and activities will also be held at Leonardtown Wharf Park.

Live music, entertainment, children's nature crafts, energy & water conservation, animal welfare & rescue, recycling information, yoga demonstrations, plants, puppet show, kayak & canoe rides, and more!

In celebration of Earth Day, a variety of entertainment, displays and exhibits by environmental organizations, and other activities are scheduled during the day. One of the goals of Leonardtown's Earth Day Committee is to offer high quality earth-friendly (made from recycled materials or renewable resources) or environmentally related art, crafts, plants, or other theme-related items to the public.
