41 Comments on Tornadoes Touch Down in the Raleigh/ Cary/ Apex Area
Great to hear you and your family are safe Craig. Enjoy your time in Florida!
Hi Craig, it's amazing the destruction that the weather can cause. I was concerned, but when I saw your comment on Awesome Jane's post I thought you were OK - I didn't know you were in Florida, though. Glad to hear that you are taking a break, that your friends and family are safe, and oh so sorry for those who have lost their homes and lives to this storm. Be Well, see you when you get back!
Craig ~ We were thinking of you and your family last evening as we were battened down and heard from my Son and Grandson, who were in Raleigh and within about 50' of one of the tornadoes. Glad to know you're safe and sound and on a well-deserved respite.
Craig, good to see you escaped the storm. We had a very, very, very close call in NE Raleigh. Saw a home completely gone in Cardinal Grove, as well as a lot of damage in Valley Stream, Winchester, Starmount, and on Yonkers Rd right next to the beltline. Downtown Raleigh was hit pretty bad as well. Enjoy your time away from this rowdy crowd!
Craig ~ it's nice to hear that you are safe and sound and on your way to visit your mom. Such a good boy!
Good to hear you're okay buddy. Hope you have a great summer!
Craig,
Glad you are safe bud. I saw your post earlier but am just now getting around to posting.
Hi Craig,
Well thankfully you and your home are safe. It is heartbreaking how massive and sudden the destruction that a tornado can cause. Lives changed in an instant.

Such severe weather around the country and cruel devastation. Glad your family is fine.
Craig, first how sad what happened to all those victims of this weather. I have not had the news on for a while now, so I did not know.....Second glad to hear you and your family are OK...on a side note this will be one of your unusual post, not the funny, happy posts you usually generate....
Craig so glad you are out of the area and able to take a much needed rest. So sorry to hear about the tragedies down there. Nothing could ever have prepared anyone for this weather and luckily there were not more lives lost. Glad you, your family and friends made it through okay.
Craig, so sorry for the loss of life...just glad you and your family are safe.
Hi Craig, I just read about it in our local paper and I immediately thought of you. Your the only one I know from that area, even though I never met you (I guess it's a testament to your blogging) but here's the article I read in case you want to see what this part of the nation is saying. Dozens die in twisters
I'm really glad to hear that you and everyone you know are ok
:)
Everyone - Thank you one and all for your well wishes. While this storm was devastating for many here in the area, and throught NC, as well as many other states, I'm thankful everyone I know is safe and sound. I typically reply to each and every comment, but I'm on a bit of a vacation and just checking in every now and then. So please don't feel slighted if you didn't get a personal response this time around. I'll be back next week and everything will be back to normal (whatever that is for me) at that time.
Criag- glad to hear you are okay...
Craig,
Sending lots of prayers that way. I grew up in that area. My family moved when I was 10. Many great memories.

Glad you fared well through the storm! What an awful thing to have happened....
Craig, Glad to hear you and your family are doing well. Enjoy your time with your mother.
Gloria
Since I saw a previous post, I knew you and your family were ok. I still can't believe the deaths and devastation!
To close to home Craig, your family and you were are my mind and I sent prayers that all was good and safe...so glad to hear. I had a friend, Hugh, who got caught up in the tornado's...he told me his family and him had to outrun one and then hid...he was in the heart of it and just returned to nyc...thank god he's okay. Mother nature is unbelievable sometimes.
