Will Beaverton,
Oregon foreclosures just be a ripple in real
estate history? The reason I ask this is because even
though I was only ten at
the time of the 1980 Beaverton,
Oregon real estate crisis. The home market in
Beaverton, was something that recovered and the market of the 1980s was
soon
forgotten by the mid 1990s.
Is there a possibility that
though was seem to be horrible
now will be forgotten again in 15-20 years and buying or selling
a home in
Beaverton will be just as easy as it was in 2006 again? Who knows, but
my guess
is that this ripple in real estate is just that a ripple, a learning
experience
and something that won’t stop home ownership.
So,
Will Beaverton,
Oregon foreclosures just be a ripple in
real estate history?

Most of the public will forget this crisis and it will be a distant memory in the future. Except for those that have been the most severely impacted (and that includes agents).
I am often surprised when I watch old movies and realize they are talking about the same problems we're talking about today. Seems life runs in cycles, doesn't it?
Todd, history does repeat itself, and this real estate blip is proof. What will remain to be seen is how it is remembered in different parts of the country, where the market may still be dragging. In the Midwest, (MI & OH), where the loss of so many jobs is impacting so harsh, it will not be remembered as kindly as in other parts of the country that are into recovery.
We all certainly hope so. Really...it'd be great to look back an think that this was just a learning experience.....but only time will tell.
Good Morning Todd, History always teaches us something. I would like to think that we are going rebound out of this ripple in real estate, and get things back on the road soon. It's taking longer than I would like though.
Gosh I certainly hope so. I've finally learned how to sell in this market (with foreclosures & short sales). I better start sharpening my skills for those equity sellers that are coming :)
Todd, i do think it will remain in our children's minds for a long time...i see a much longer recovery for some of my area unfortunately as the state & towns grapple with huge deficits & property taxes soar!
Todd, Tell me why you do real estate instead of photography. Your pictures are simply stunning! WOW!!!!!!!
Belinda - WOW, thank you for that comment, it means a lot. I've learned a lot about photography in the last year from fellow rainers and I'm glad to see it is paying off.

yes they look so nice but Foreclosures are such tough on to stomach.
