One of my Realtors asked me yesterday how to determine if a condo is VA Approved.  Please follow these steps exactly and you will be able to figure it out:

+ Go to this web site; http://condopudbuilder.vba.va.gov/2.2/frames.html

+ Click on Condo Pud Reports

+ Line 1 Hi lite Summary Line 2 hilite both.

            + Line 3 under name insert *

+ Line 4 leave blank and line 5 enter your state.

Then Click on Submit and it will bring up all of the VA condos approved in your state.

You must also go to the HUD site and check to see if it is HUD approved because VA will accept a HUD approved condo with put regard to owner occupancy.

Good Luck, Good Lending and Aloha

I use it all the time. Wanna hear something funny? I kept looking for my complex and knew that it became VA approved a couple of years ago....and it was on the list but I had to add in "The" and then it showed up.

Hi David -- Does not appear that they did get it approved.  If you would like we can go in for a spot approval.  Will take us about 6 weeks.  I will be out of the hopsital in about 2 to 3 weeks and will be delighted to take this on as a project for you.  Please let me know.  Aloha

If a condominium is advertised as VA/FHA approved and we find out it's not and contingency has been lifted are we responsible for paying a fee to extend the escrow term?

This is a terrific site. I didn't find the ondo I'd like to buy but it also wasn't listed when I unchecked the VA/PUD only box. Assuming they're not VA approved yet (and assuming they accept my offer wth funding approval contingent on becoming approved) and they actually are willing to do the paperwork - how long does the process usually take? The condo is 4 years old and occupied, mainly with homeowners. It's very hard to get the names of the Board Members through the property management company and no one in the property management company knows anything about VA approval (some didn't even know what I was talking about). Thanks!!
