The Two Most Important Aspects of a Business

By
Home Stager with Academy of Staging and Redesign

Peter Drucker said there are only two profitable endeavors of a business. Marketing and innovation.

If you're spending most of your time managing your business, your business will probably fail.  The vast majority of your time should be spent marketing it, promoting it, and testing your approaches, methods, tactics and so forth.

At the same time, if you can create a new or better way of doing things, something no one else is doing, or you create a brand new product no one else has, then that should be highly profitable for you.

Are you waiting by the phone for it to ring? or are you actively pursuing business on a daily basis?

What problem can you solve for others that hasn't been done before?

Thanks Barbara for an excellent post. The two aspects you describe are of great importance to Realtors.

Working the business as a single owner and operatorcan be a challenge!  Today I stopped in to a RE office and had a nice visit with two agents.  It's not always easy to keep up the marketing when you get busy with the jobs, but it is so important!

You have to remind yourself that if you take a break from marketing and promoting your business cause you're busy, the day will come when you have nothing going on and then panic can begin to set in.  Always strive to have several irons in the fire at all times.
