Cutting Through The Noise Of Voices In Social Media

By
Real Estate Agent with Keller Williams Realty 0575737

NoiseIn social media whether it be blogging, or facebooking or twittering, lots of CHAT going on. Lots of voices. How can you get YOUR target audience to listen to you and to stick with you and not get drowned in a sea of noise?

  • Offer value and meaning in what you always say and always be respectful
  • Go out of your way to help others, use your mind and heart to respond to them
  • Develop your unique voice of who you are as the messenger
  • Comment with reply comments to others, at your blog, on their blog, on their Wall
  • Be consistent. Do not use social media once in a blue moon, but regularly

sooo simple and such great advice Gary!! Congrats on your feature well deserved indeed! This would have been great for my new group, Words of Wisdom Wednesday :) I especially love your advice about

"Go out of your way to help others, use your mind and heart to respond to them" This is what it's all about and will carry you a very long way.

Gary,

I am a social media junkie and what I have found useful is Twitter lists and Facebook lists. With Twitter lists I "really" follow 250 of the 2000 and monitor their every tweet. I see these people as referral sources and interact with them regularly

With Facebook lists I can send out specific statuses and build rapport with a certain group at a time, i.e. college friends, church folk, etc

This has proven to be infinitely more effective than trying to watch everyone's status all the time, which can drive you crazy.

Good advice Gary.  Contributing is just as important as listening and commenting to others contributions.

Hi Gary--

Once again, you cut to the heart of the matter.  Don't "spend" too much time where it doesn't count.  Develop your voice and plan accordingly!

Yes, consistency is key...we all need to remember that.  Make a plan for each day and stick to it.  Make time for working on your business, in your business, family, personal time and everything falls into place.  I use a weekly calendar with times and put in those things above and color code them.  Balance and consistency key.  Great Post!!

Gary, great advice, but sometimes it's hard to be consistent. Just too many things to do on a daily basis.

Gary your number two point resonates the most with me.  Act in a genuine fashion, and people will relate to that.

Gary, Great post.  I hesitated a long time before I wrote my first blog because you do have to make that commitment to be consistent.

Gary-great post and I love how you mentioned to offer value!

There are at least eight great social marketing tools that are really essential for real estate agents who want to reach out and communicate with prospects.  For our clients, we always set them up - at the very least - with these eight tools: a blog (integrated with the agent's website); Facebook; Twitter; YouTube; Scribd; Flickr; Digg; and OnlyWire.

In social marketing, the more content (blog text, videos, photos, comments) you push out to the world - the more you engage with other people - the more leads you'll generate and clients you'll convert.

Social Media is an integral part of our modern existence. As Realtors we must get engaged in the social media phenomenon, in order to establish our brand or name recognition.  It has become one of the essential pillars to success for those seeking to build a "Unique Voice" and to promote their business. Thanks for sharing and I enjoyed your blog.
