 New York City Parks Department has a wonderful website   nyc parks  where Brooklyn Real Estate Home Buyers who are also dog owners can search by zip code , neighborhood and by borough for Brooklyn Public Parks by the type of designation for dog activities.

There are four designation for areas within the NYC (Brooklyn) Parks that give Brooklyn dog owners and their dogs an opportunity to enjoy the park system.

No Dog Allowed: Dogs are not permitted in these areas at any time.

Dogs must be on leash at all time: Dogs must be kept on a leash at all time within these areas

Dog runs: Dog runs are large, fenced- in areas for dogs to exercise unleased.

Designated Off leash areag: Certain park areas allow dogs to be off lease from the time the park opens until 9a.m and from 9 p.m until the park closes.  Dog owners with dogs off-leash in these designated areas must obey all general rules, including having their dog undercontrol at all times, licensing the dog, and carrying proof of the dog's rabies vaccination. * Off-leash do not apply to park areas where dogs are strictly prohibited.

Remember: Dogs must be licensed and have proof of vaccination for rabies.
