Ladera Ranch Little League Challenger Division
Last November I wrote a blog about Ladera Ranch Little League's Challenger Division. The Challenger Division is a special program designed specifically for children with special needs. The goal of Challenger Baseball is to give those with physical, social and emotional challenges a chance to play baseball. Challenger Baseball participants learn the fundamentals of the game, while also experiencing team work and the thrill of being part of the game.
Ladera Ranch Little League baseball players are "buddied up" with a player from the Challenger division.
This last Saturday was my son's team, the Mets, day to be participate with the Challenger team.
It was an absolutely wonderful experience for my son, his team, and our family. My son was really excited to help out his buddy and show him the ropes. My son & his buddy are in the picture to the right. I was so proud of how involved and excited both my son and his team were to volunteer.
Without a doubt this was the most rewarding day of baseball I have ever seen or been part of. My hat goes off to Ladera Ranch Little League and all of the volunteers that make this division possible, definitely a labor of love.
