Tornadoes in Fayetteville NC April 16th 2011 Help Your Neighbor!

By
Real Estate Broker/Owner with Everything Pines Partners Fayetteville

Tornadoes effected so many around Fayetteville NC and the surrounding area...

It is simply amazing to me that through the area it looks like total devastation and other parts... nothing!  Some people lost all the they own on Saturday April 16th when tornadoes plagued the area.

This photo was taken last week as I sat on the bleachers at Pine Forest High watching the boys play...there are no bleachers there now, and the field , it going to take a lot of work before you will see another game there...

Now in the after math it is time to start to rebuild the lives of those effected.  Tomorrow April 20th in front of the Lowe’s on Skibo road the United Way and American Red Cross will be collecting items, caned food, and monetary donations to help those effected in our area.  All donations will go to help those right here in our own community.

Now is a great time to clean out your closets and help clothe the victims that have nothing....If you have furniture that you were planning on getting rid of now is the time, remember they have nothing!

I have to run, need to start my clean out!

You're so right Melissa.  The devastation is absolute for some and clothing, kitchen items, etc. could all be used.

Hi Melissa, It's sad to hear about the devastation in your area, and it's great that you are reaching out for help and support. Now would be a great time to donate and clean out those closets.

Melissa, just imagining what it must be like to lose everything is so humbling.  I hope you have a great turn out at these locations to assist these families who have a long way to go to put the pieces back together again.

Melissa ~  Saw a touch of the devastation on the road to Durham this morning; it is very humbling, indeed.  Recon' CA and I need to do some cleaning out as well and make a drive . . .

Hope you're feeling better.

Thanks guys!! It really has been sad watching the news today...I have not driven to the badly effected areas yet, they are just let residents in finally to look at what they have left.  I hope that everyone digs deep to help out!

Melissa - Good to see that you are OK.  I agree, the clips on the news & facebook are very sad.  Those of us in the Pinehurst area feel very lucky that it missed us and my heart goes out to those in the surrounding areas that were damaged.  Our local micro-brewery is in the process of organizing a fundraiser to help out the families affected by the tornados.  Kudos to Railhouse Brewery!

Melissa, I have a box full of stuff to get to the relief efforts. I know of a local business that is collecting things and will deliver them. Lots of prayers to all of those effected by this aweful situation.

It is so painful to see such devastation!  This is a beautiful post supporting a wonderful cause.  Seeing neighbors helping neighbors in times of crisis restores my faith in humanity.
