Portland Saturday Market

Having a blast in Portland Oregon

Since my good friend and her hubby have been here visiting from the east coast, it's been a whirlwind of activity, but I haven't had much time to blog.

It's been pretty hard with those mixed feelings of living in the moment or taking time to blog about what we've been doing.I've chosen to live in the moment, but thought while everyone getting ready to get out and about today, I'd get my blog fix!

Saturday was the first day of our company here, so we did the downtown Portland thing hitting the Portland Saturday Market then shooting up to NW 23rd Ave. for some shopping. (got a cool $20 pair of boots!)

That night we ended up at our usual haunt at Haydens Lakefront Grill in Tualatin where we sang along to the live music of Warren Floyd. Our friends loved this.

Sunday we moved slowly starting the day, but finally got our bodies moving to head down to wine country in Dundee Hills wine country, Oregon. We enjoyed wine tasting in several wineries and came home with lots of Pinot Noirs for future drinking pleasure.Another Wine tasting at Beaux Freresevening at another local hang out at The Highland Stillhouse in Oregon City to listen to our friend Tiffany Carlson sing, tasted some wiskey (and a sneaking shot of rum) that the owner Mick brought out for us to taste. Me..not a wiskey drinker, but I did taste the rum...not bad.

Yesterday was my friends actual birthday..but you know we celebrate the week now instead! Having had two full days of fun, once again we moved slowly through the day to end up at Bridgeport Village so they could take advantage of the tax free shopping. This is always something we get used to, but a big deal when purchasing some pricy things.

Naked Chicks inside signThe hubbies were big sports the first day patiently waiting while my friend and I were shopping on 23rd, They did seem interested in what was inside the store with the "naked chicks inside" sign.(turned out to be a cool shop with soaps and stuff with little soap chickies..lol).I think they were disappointed.

So later in the day when we were at Bridgport Village  they decided to wait at the bar at Sinju..great place for sushi..and for me sushi that I can eat! Off to dinner at one of our fave places to go Pok Pok, then a night cap at our local bar & restaraunt BJ Willys.

Now I need to get ready myself for our trip to Bend where we are staying at one of the McMenamins hotels. These are really cool places that were once old schools and converted into hotels. Should be fun. I've got lots of blogging materia for when we all wind down and my friend leaves for Ashland..then on to San Fransisco. I'm really having a blast in Portland Oregon!

I'm missing my blogging, but will get back into it soon enough with lots of cool pictures and videos of my fun in Portland with friends. Off to get ready!

Portland is a fun town.  My folks use to live in Eugene and I would fly in sometimes to Portland to have some fun.

Hi Jill, I haven't done this much in such a short span of time in a while! Her and Hubby now on their way to Ashland and We're back home to get right back into work tomorrow. I feel like I'm missing lots of good stuff here on AR. but it was a really good thing to just have fun with my friend. I still snuck in some AR..but not as much as I normally would have..especially commenting.

Hi Elizabeth, I did just that..today back to meetings and prospecting and getting back into it as she has moved on down to San Francisco. It was a good time and I'm happy she chose to come here to celebrate her big 50 with me.
