46 Comments on Canter's Deli a Los Angeles Institution! A Must Visit & Eat there Destination Place
Endre - Congratulations of a FEATURE! Reading it made me long for a day to drive around and enjoy the goodies in your area. Great local establishments!
Endre, just stopped by to say hello...congrats on the feature...this was really a well presented hyper-local post. I'm in with Pat...maybe you could charter a plane!!!
Barbara, you are so right there are so many great LA Landmark establishments it is a foodie paradise:))
Nick that would be grand You Charter the Plane and get an AR crew to come and help the Local LA Economy:))
Awesome local post, Endre! Congrats on the feature--well done! You live in such a neat area, full of celebrity and history alike. Love the building shots too!
Hello Endre - A wonderful post and congrats on the feature! I was in Hollywood shooting photos and videos of the stars in the sidewalks, Santa Monica Pier and more. I will make a point to share them in "The Rain" some time, and I sure love the area where you live and would like to rent a small condo for a month out of the year.
VB ;o)
Debe- Thank you for stopping in, yes there is a lot of Entertainment History if those chairs and walls could talk:)))
VB- when you went to the Santa Monica Pier did you eat near there?? Also which Restaurant?
Hey Endre! this is a great Localism post and many congrats on your feature, well deserved! :)
Endre - OY VEY!!! It's been ages since I've been to Canters. It is definitely a great place for food and as a former after midnight fan, I have so many late night memories of that place from my former life.
Hello Endre and no I didn't eat at the Pier but I took some wonderful photos and video. Next time I visit I would like to take the Hollywood Stars tour and shoot some video, I think it would be very interesting. I would also like to drive into Beverly Hills and take some photos & video.

I’ve never eaten there because I am familiar with its history and figured it was too expensive for lil’ ol’ me.
Jim, ironically compared to the restaurants with the Celebrity Chef status, the place is inexpensive, the desert (bakery) is less expensive than other bakeries:))
Donne- you must come back nothing has changed, day time different crowd than the night time:))
Carol & laura, thank you for the visit, top in at Canters if you are in town:)
VB the Hollywood Bus Tour......call me and I will give you another tour:))) Save the money for Canters instead:)))
YUMMY! Sounds good to me! Wish I was going to be there sometime soon to try it out! :O)
Joni, there are soo many good things to try or eat again:))
Endre, Now, I'm starving! Yum, it all sounds great. I was thinking about that lox on a bagel with the matzo ball soup and a pastry for dessert. Wonder if I could catch a plane this late???
Good news is if you do they are open 24/7:))))
When it comes to food, it is another area of your expertise! =D Definitely a place to come and visit. I think I'm going to head out in search for a nice meal to take my mind of this.
Hi Endre-Canter's was always one of my favorites when I lived in San Diego-many a road trip up there
Will sorry to make you run out and eat:)))
Tim now that is a dedicated Canter's Follower driving up from San Diego:)))
