I love this time of year for it's wonderful fairs and festivals all over Long Island, New York.  I go to as many as I can and you can find many of them in all different towns.  One fair I never miss is a wonderful Fair in Bellmore, Long Island.  They have some amazing Handmade Crafts, rides (yes, I still like them :) and of course, good food.  Bellmore is a lovely little town and it's quite progressive which is one of the things I love about it.  It has a variety of old time stores mixed with the new as well as many types of Wholistic Treatment centers.  Looking for an Acupunturist or Medical Intuitive?  You'll find some of the best in this town.

Bellmore is also a proud town and has built a small but lovely Memorial for it's Veterans.  They have not been forgotten.  Though they often have smaller flea markets here, this is the annual "biggie."  It was a wonderful, picture perfect day.

Feng Shui Long IslandI love these crafts. There are all soda and beer cans made into trains, planes and automobiles.

Bellmore Feng ShuiThis fair carries just about anything you can think of...and some you wont.  Here's a variety of just a sampling of the items from handmade custom metal sculptures to Tee Shirts.

Bellmore Long Island Feng ShuiThe Main Street and many of the side streets are closed to traffic to allow room for all the vendors and visitors from all over Long Island.

Feng Shui Long Island New York CityI love the Memorial they have built in Bellmore.

Bellmore Feng ShuiBLOCKS of rides. Really, is getting "old" necessary?

Long Island Consultant Carole ProvenzaleThis is just one of the beautiful animals they brought, a gorgeous calico up for adoption.  They bring a sampling of these lovely animals in the hopes they will find a good home.  I would have taken this one in a heartbeat if it weren't for my dogs.

Feng Shui Long IslandYou can't leave yet, you'll miss the small but lively parade!

Bellmore Fair Long IslandThey always end with a Pirate Ship.

There was more to do and more to see but it was time to leave:  There was ANOTHER Fair in Massapequa, Long Island and we were off to investigate that one!

CAROLE:  I used to go to this every year when I lived in Bellmore.  It's been a number of years since I've attended, but it was always a good time.  That collection of cars made out of cans was very cool.

Hi Carole,
The best thing about Fall is fairs and festivals, I love them.  I love the parades, exhibits crafts and shows, I'm not really big on the rides anymore.  I know you had a great time.  We will be attending the Morehead City Seafood Festival this coming weekend in the county my parents live in.  It's a great event.  Oh yes, your photos are awesome--love the cat!

Carole ~  Fairs are great and the Bellmore one, although I haven't been in years, is something I used to look forward to.  North Bellmore is where my parents moved our family from Brooklyn (when I was 12), and my sister, who still lives in a nearby town, goes every year.  As a new mother, she is now bringing her children along for this experience.

Wow! This place looks like fun! I will be going to one this weekend in Louisville Ky. I can't wait. I loved the pic you took about the beer can toys. You know how I am always having critters at my doors? Today there is a super large beautiful moth 3" long at my front door and one just like it on the deck at the back door. Are they guarding me??? LOL

Carole-

You share my love of this time of year with it's fairs and festivals. Your pictures are gorgeous. You captured the spirit very well. When I visited my state fair last week I focused on my friend's achievement. I will copy a link to it on my site to share it with you.

Joan, I thought of you and your wonderful road trips!  I'm about ready for one myself although I heard them say on TV that Fall has officially been cancelled :)

Carol, We started off here as potato fields :)  Funny that you think of Long Island as the city, not that it isn't turning into one....hurry and visit before it does!

Candy, I believe I'm supposed to grow up but I still love them...and I keep going.

Lisa, You have some terrific fairs there, I would love them all.  I will be exhausted soon from over-fairing (I know, it's not a word).

Laurie, If I were you I'd be heading to the Riverhead one, I've never been there.....or the weather is supposed to stay beautiful, heading out on a boat sounds wonderful.

Adam, I bought them for my kids when I first saw them, they are wonderful. And now that you've called to my attention the Huntington Fair, I will have another TWO this weekend!  I would have missed it, that's a terrific fair (and I love that town).

Jo, The weather has been SO beautiful for them, too.  It is still 80% here.  I hate to miss these fairs, they only come once a year.

Cynthia, Take pictures, I love to see Fairs even if I'm not there in person.  I loved that cat immediately, I would have taken it in a heartbeat if I didn't have the dogs.  Thankfully it was from a no kill shelter.

Kathy, You should have gone, you probably would have loved it!  If you're going to be anywhere near Farmingdale or Huntington this weekend for those fairs, call me.

Lizette, I don't know, I'm not sure what a moth means.  Interesting you would say that, I had a huge grasshopper right near my front door and was wondering what THAT meant!  I haven't seen one in a few years.  Have fun at your fair and post please, I would love to see the pictures.

Teri, It was a great time.  And then on to the next where we met my son.  That brought back some nice memories.

Jennifer, You have wonderful things going on up in your area.   Give me the heads up when the leaves are changing, I would love to take a drive.

Mehmet, Yes, these photos I'm keeping safe.  All my photos go now onto a disc, they are priceless.  Thank you for your comment.

Ginger, It was, by the time we got home from the second fair we were exhausted.  Now if I could just hold up through this weekend....

Katerina, Thank you for your comment.  I fear I'm never going to grow up!  I did have a great time.

Sally, I love your Localism posts and learn so much. They had a large turtle shell at one of the booths and I am not certain if it was the type you had been speaking of, but the man told us they were endanged.  This fair and the one I did not post about yet (for different reasons) were both wonderful.  Thank you for your comment.
