Hey Consumer....Can We Talk (#2)

Did you know that as Realtors we can give you "general real estate advice" that will work most anywhere in the United States?

Did you know that as Realtors we have a duty to treat everyone fairly?

Did you know that as Realtors we can help you find a good agent anywhere in the USA?

Did you know that your lender might not be able to help you if you are living in another state than the one where your lender is located?

Did you know that "being local matters"?

Did you know your choice of a Realtor means the difference of a smoother transaction than you thought possible?

Did you know that as a Realtor we appreciate referrals, compliments and acknowledgement after we've closed on your transaction?

Here here, what she said. How many times have a I seen my friends get the royal shaft when they were in another area and didn't let me refer them. Why folks don't let us help or at least do a little homework... I'll never understand.

Good post Gwynn, and I have to agree with Tammy. Why? One thing I don't like is working with best friends and family. That's where you really get the shaft.

Gwynn...many good points. I think most people don't THINK about their REALTOR® when it comes to needing a REALTOR® in another area. I think most people don't THINK about us at all. It's really a shame, maybe we aren't vocal enough.

Tammy: I've had clients ask if I could come with them to another state! I don't think the world is ready for two of me...

Ricki: I've tried working with my family and they go off to do some outlandish thing....and I'm willing to give them my referral money that I receive for helping find a great agent. People!!!

Kim: My mantra is always to tell someone I can help no matter what town or state I'm in....I handed out business cards while at the horse races to folks from 3 different states - you never know!

Gwynn, wonderful writing. I forgot that we are giving advice that usually works in any state. However, when I counsel clients, I do forewarn them that the laws in their state may vary slightly, and they should check with a local practicing Realtor....not the part-timer in the next cube over.

Suzanne: thanks for the writing comment - I seem to get better the more post I do. And yes, we ought to be shouting 'USE MY KNOWLEDGE' every chance we get - no matter where a person lives. I too think they should check with a local practicing Realtor as the more states I visit and talk about Real Estate the more differences I see.
