3 Comments on Big Firm, Little Firm. What's the Difference in Real Estate Firms?
Interesting perspective, and maybe that is what it looks from the outside, but I was a Century 21 Broker/Owner for many years. We went to National Training in Brokerage to learn how to be profitable, not just to grow bodies.
I agree with you, i am a small locally owned and operated company and my sales are up there with the big guys who have many many many more agents.
Jeanne,
I was with one of the largest real estate companies in Atlanta - over 900 agents. Also with a smaller start-up with about 30 agents. It happened at both places. You can be profitable without growing bodies, but that's not the model many brokerages follow. Many of them assume that once they have adequate revenue from a group of agents to cover overhead, they can hire lots more agents and the nickle-and-diming is pure profit at that point.
