You would not believe what the drugstore told me yesterday when I asked it to reset my security question. If you may recall, I was trying to reorder my cat's Prozac but I could not recall the answer to some stupid question because I have too damn many childhood heroes. Their customer service department said I should just keep trying to guess. What the? OK, Felix the Cat. Rocket J. Squirrel. But no luck.

And then it had the audacity to ask me if I would fill out a customer service survey, which would take me a mere 10 minutes to do. As a Sacramento short sale agent, I don't have 10 minutes to fill out some stinkin' survey. But I'll tell you whose survey I DO complete and that is a Bank of America short sale survey.

That's because I truly believe that Bank of America is doing its best to improve its short sale department. I've seen the improvement over the years with my own two eyes. Besides, I hear that Bank of America intends to pay out dividends second quarter. Buying stock in Bank of America right now might be a smarter thing to do than buying CITI. The best time to buy stock is not when it's peaking.

I also fill out the Bank of America short sale survey because I believe if I'm not part of the solution, I'm adding to the problem. Everybody knows what Bank of America has gone through with its short sales. I have noticed that it's about a 50 / 50 chance in any given short sale now at Bank of America that I'll get assigned a great negotiator. That's peculiar odds. There doesn't seem to be a negotiator in the middle. I get either a brilliant negotiator or a moron. One or the other.

However, I do keep excellent notes on each short sale file. When it comes time to complete the Bank of America short sale survey, I add my own remarks about the negotiator. Even though there is no particular spot for it. If he or she was excellent, I let Bank of America know. If he or she fell short, I tell Bank of America about that, too. It's sort of my civic duty, I suppose, as a Sacramento short sale agent -- don't you agree?

As for the idiot drugstore employee, I asked her to cancel my account and reopen it. There is always a solution to a problem.

Elizabeth, I am cynical in this area. You actually think Bank of America does ANYTHING with those surveys? I don't think they are making any changes at all. But you keep us posted if it is improving. I don't see it. They can fall back on too big to fail. I think it is their company mission statement. I loved the drug store saying keep guessing. Are they serious? What are they smoking?

Elizabeth, I have NEVER heard ANYTHING positive about B of A...somehow, I'm reacting like Gary. I've heard really terrible things about people who've been overseas and had to deal with them, that's just one of the scenarios I recall.

Elizabeth, I do agree it is our duty to complete the survey and be part of a solution – otherwise we are part of the problem. I also agree that we have a 50% chance of getting a brilliant negotiator or a moron. It’s so important that we acknowledge those shining stars as well as the rocks.

Adding to the comments above, whether BofA does anything with the surveys or not … it makes me feel good to tell it like it is from an agent perspective … how miserable the process actually is and how BofA does not help.

The security department of the online pharmacy encouraged you to "just keep trying?"  Oh there is definitely something wrong with that picture.

Dear Elizabeth -

Your posts are instructive and easy to read.  Thanks from a newbie to AR.
As soon as I finish here - I am going to read Jim's (#6) BofA blog about the addendum.

Have a happy day -
Lynn
