Every year almost 2 million seniors are treated in hospitals as a result of falls. Fear of falling keeps many seniors homebound thus restricting their physical activity and their social interactions. Falling is a serious issue for seniors however, understanding the common causes allows the senior more control of their life. Many of the causes for falls are within the control of seniors and thus can be prevented so that today's more active seniors can reduce the risk and live a more fulfilling life.
