It's Pok Pok Restaurant..answer to this weeks Where is it Wednesday...somewhere in the Clinton/Division neighborhood Portland, Oregon

Each week I'll be posting a new picture on Wednesday morning. The title of the blog will have the City where the picture is taken and I'll post the answer Wednesday evening...not only here on my blog, but on my facebook business page as well. Feel free to click the link below to go to my facebook business page to add yourself there. I'll also be tweetin it on my Twitter page as well.

Do you know where it is? Care to guess? Comments are welcome. I'll post the answer tonight.

Answer: It's the famous Pok Pok restaurant at 3226 SE Division Street, Portland Oregon

Congrats to John McCarthy all the way from New Hampshire for guessing this weeks location correctly! Way to go John!

When my hubby and I were first invited to check out this local place we were quite hesitant after looking at the menu and reading entrees with some ingredients that I've never heard of. Once there though and with the helpful suggestions of the knowledgeable staff, we were quickly swayed by the deliciousness of the food to become frequent diners.

Taking no reservations (except for a large group in the upstairs room) there is often an overflow of people waiting over in the Whiskey Soda lounge. Yes..they call over there when your table is ready.

Pok Pok and Chef Andy Ricker have been winners of several awards for the last several years including 2010 Best restaurant by the Willamette Weekly and the Portland Monthly, and has been featured on the food channel network. With a "cult" following that often packs in this tiny place that has the "outdoor" rooms encased in tarps to keep diners warm in the winter, and small inside seating areas up and down.

Hi, Cindy. I have no idea what this place is but I love to stop by your Wednesday photo anyway. Let me guess: a new lunch place in a residential area? By personal invitation only?

Hi Cindy,

I had to do a lot of research to come up with this one. I really wish I knew something anything about your area so I could better participate in "Where Is It Wednesday". It is a very clever contest. My guess is Pok Pok.

Run down shanty

Cindy, This is obviously the Fixer Upper that you wrote about in one of your posts.  I see that they have now enclosed the patio with some nice plastic and the lighting really makes the place look a lot nicer.

I can not be certain, but, are those the dumpster divers that you also featured in a video.  That's my guess and I am sticking with it.  Let me know when I win and I look forward to receiving my prize.  Best wishes always.

Hi Elizabeth, thanks for stopping by and taking a stab at this one. It's been around for a few years..one of those places you might call "that hole in the wall" but has great food as well as a huge following

Hi John, For someone that knows nothing about my area..all I can say is if you give up real estate, you'd make a great detective...so Ding ding ding..we have a winner!!! Pok Pok it is! Most excellent detective work..I'm very  impressed :)

Hi Richard, yes, it sure does look like that fixer I was talking about with the enclosed tarp areas. Inside those you'll find some tables with personal heaters to keep you toasty while chowing down on some fantastic food. Those folks might look like the ones in my dumpster diving video..but no bottled vinager here unless it the flavored drinkable kind (haven't tasted this..but on the drink menu).. This place looks great in the summer and is usually always packed..even in the winter months! Thanks for playing along..and even though not a winner today, you're always a winner in my book :)

Hi Cindy "in Indy", thanks, I have no idea who reads these, but I have been getting more and more clicks. I know if I start getting more interaction from local consumers on my Facebook page as most don't respond on this forum I might just start giving away some prizes. In the meantime I just enjoy doing them!

Hi Cindy,

Thank you for the chance to participate! My research also turned up that Andy Ricker also opened another restaurant Ping. Have you tried that one?
