Where do you search for homes online? Well, just about anywhere. But is that all you need to know?

Downtown Newnan GeorgiaOver the last two decades, the Internet has evolved from novelty to necessity, and the explosion of available content can be overwhelming at times.

As a result of the general acceptance by the business community of the Internet as THE place to do business, and the natural limits of creativity being somewhat constraining, we have reached a sort of online equilibrium.

Internet parity pervades the realm of Cyberspace. If you ask anyone to name the websites that they regularly use, most could probably name twenty at the most out of the estimated two hundred million websites that are online.

A Google search for the term “real estate” yields over ONE BILLION pages of results.

So it’s pretty easy to find homes for sale online just about anywhere. But where do you find out information about the localities and neighborhoods beyond dollar amounts and tax values?

How does one evaluate the overall lifestyle and community spirit of any given area?

The best place to uncover the underlying soul of any given municipality is to read information provided regularly by local writers. Blog are an excellent source of local information over and above available homes for sale.

To find them quickly, just Google the area you want to know more about, and add the word “blog” to the search phrase.

The wealth and depth of insight provided by local journalists tell the complete story about the community, local events, businesses, and prominent amenities.

It’s the next best thing to being there!

I did a search on "real estate" and there are lots of results...the top one is Realtor.com.  Now to search on the "blog" aspect. Richard, you have given me another idea....thanks.

Where would we be today without the ease of the internet ?

Today with all the free flow of information we need much better filters to understand

what we are looking at and the real value there in.

cheers

The age of the true real estate professional is no longer hinged on the ability to "find a house". Top professionals can show their value by helping customers/clients navigate that massive river of information. The tip here you just shared is a perfect expample of how and agent can help simplify the process.  Thanks Richard... Keep well and keep moving forward!

I love that tip of adding blog in the search Richard and the 'local journalists' like ourselves have much to offer.

Richard,

I've gotten business from my local blog because people got a feel for Crofton, MD, that they didn't have before. They really like the personal stories.

Richard - I put most of my blogging efforts into sponsoring a community blog and market my listings on the sidebar.  It ranks high on Google searches #1 on Page 1.  I market my listings on the sidebar and links to my real estate blog on the sidebar.  The community blog creates most of my leads and made me #1 in my area.
