Real Estate Agent with KELLER WILLIAMS LAKE OCONEE

Keller Williams Realty Lake Oconee has donated and helped many charities. In the past year we have held a dog wash for the Humane Society and Painted Cabins for the Elk Club so they can rent out and make money to  help young girls  stay on the complex that have no place to go and give them schooling, most have came from  abrusive homes or parents that were addicted to drugs.  We have assisted in Greene county to feed the hungry , Donated time and money to Habitat and the boys and girls club. None have hit home like the story Of Anaiah Rucker in Morgan County though

Anaiah and her little sister were waiting for the school bus in February when Camry, got anxious and ran out too early when she saw the school bus. She moved right in the line of traffic. There was a truck coming and with no time to stop the truck, it hit the little girls. At no fault of the driver, the little girls were hit. Anaiah put herself between the truck and her sister to shield the the impact for her little sister. That day Anaiah's  life would be changed forever. She was gave CPR and brought back, only to find out she would loose a kidney and a leg, her neck was fractured and she also lost a spleen.  She stayed over a month in the hospital and now going back and forth to the hospital in Atlanta  for medical assistance and therapy.

"I have five children of my own and can only imagine what the family is going through." stated Kim Logan, realtor for Keller Williams.

In hopes to raise money for the family, Keller Williams decided to sale raffle tickets for $10.00 each for a chance to win 25 movie tickets. Valued at $250.00 at Showtime theater. What they did not expect is to receive money across the nation from all the people that would read  the story... We received money and gifts for Anaiah and her sister Camry. I delivered them yesterday and all the special letters I received I gave them to the family as well. Hopefully this will  give them the courage to handle what they will have to in the future.

I lost a daughter when she was eleven, it was a terrible accident at Lake Oconee. I recieved letters as well from all over the ocuntry. If  I did not I don't think I would of had the courage to face the years of sadness that was in my heart. Sometimes in Life we get a  curve ball  and sometimes we have to handle things we do not want to. You can't let it get you down if you do it will ruin you. I chose to make good out of bad and to help others. By doing this it takes alittle of the pain away. Ive made good out of something bad. God has a plan for this little girl. Hopefully she will change lives, he isn't  done with her. yet.

We raised over $3,000. for the family in a short amount of time. Our goal was a $1000.00! We want to thank all that sent money to help this family.  At the time this picture was taken we recieved $400.00 more that was added to the bank account for Anaiah . If you read this story and want to still donate please make checks to Anaiah Rucker fund, Send to Keller Williams Realty Lake Oconee, suite 5, 103 Harmony crossing, Eatonton Ga. 31024. I will make sure the money gets into the account and keep you updated on the funds collected for her..
