8 Comments on Business Lessons From Baseball...more specifically the Dodgers....
How could somebody with a pulse run the LA Dodgers into the ground ???????
Michael, That is a good question! I have no idea!
I heard the owner had to get a personal loan to make payroll! Great.
We're always looking for more SF Giants fans. Go with a winner. Giants rule...Dodgers drool.
Lloyd, I love the rivalry! The Giants seem to have improved from last year even! Baseball needs both of these franchises to be strong. Let's face it they need all of them to be strong!
Good reminders for all of us. Thanks for sharing your thoughts.
Roy, Thank you for sharing your flowers with me!
It is a terrible situation with the Dodgers. Just proves no matter how iconic the business, a leader without the right intentions can ruin the franchise. I think Selig (and the rest of the owners) took the right step by appointing someone to oversee operations. Selig would not have chosen this step if the rest of the owners were not consulted - my opinion. I saw a quote that McCourt still owned the Dodgers but Tom Scheiffer was there to monitor operations on behalf of MLB. Must be a tension filled atmosphere for the employees.

Mel, What is really saddening, is that this was also one of the most profitable franchises in all of Sports, I just don't know how someone intelligent enough to make the money to buy them, could run them into the ground! I hope that Baseball finds a good owner for the Dodgers, love them or hate them, Baseball needs to have a franchise like the Dodgers to further baseball's interests in other cultures.
