Pay it Forward - Water for Construction Workers

This week I have been working in various Fieldstone Homes communities assisting with the sales of their inventory homes.  Our Keller Williams office has been given the task of selling some of Fieldstone’s inventory homes.  Water cup

I was fortunate to be inside the office on all these hot days that we have been having, but I noticed the construction workers were out in full force, cleaning off all those vacant lots, and removing trash from the neighborhood. Today, some of them stopped by the office for some drinking water, since they had forgotten to bring some water.  Giving them some nice cold drinking water was right on time for them near the end of their workday.  I was glad to be able to help them quince their thirst since I had plenty of cold drinking water in the office refrigerator.

It gets pretty hot in Texas, and having a cold cup of water will certainly hit the spot for anyone who has been out in that sun all day.  It’s not always how much you give, but those little things in life that you do for others mean so much more to them.

Hi Jerry - Isn't it amazing how much water means to someone on a hot day?  I usually hand out cold bottles of water at my summer open houses, and that has earned me some clients (but the main reason I do it is that people going to open houses on a hot day are in danger of getting sick if they don't get some water).  I also give cold water to door-to-door people who come up to our door on a warm day.  We live in a very hilly neighborhood where the homes are spaced pretty far apart, and people come to our door sweating and breathing hard!  It feels good to be able to give such a small gift that means so much!  Your cold water probably feels like a life saver to those workers.

Hi Susan,,,It is truly amazing how far a bottle of cold water will go on a hot day. Thanks for sharing your experiences with your open houses and your neighborhood, where the homes are spread apart. I would certainly not want any workers to get a heat stroke from not having enough water.

No cold beer?!  JK.  Jerry, that was a very thoughtful gesture and I'm sure those hard working construction workers appreciated it.

Jerry, I remember those scorching days growing up in the South!  That water had to be right on the spot!  Fortunately, not hot here in Ohio yet!

Thats great Jerry-  sometimes  during the summer here in Brooklyn I leave an ice cooler on my front porch with water for our letter carriers and the kids that hand out  our neighorhood association news letters.  Nothing beats a drink of cold water on a hot summers day.

Hi Belinda, No, it was in the late in afternoon after 4:00 P.M. They were getting ready to go home for the day. Perhaps, something to eat would have been right on time too!

Jerry, I know the value of water - in those places where it is not enough to even drink.

You have a great 'Pay It Forward' need to be featured - at least in our group.
