Named for an early U.S. Army Commander, Alexander Macomb, Jr., Macomb County is part of Metro Detroit.  The County Seat is Mt. Clemons, Michigan.

As mentioned in Part I of this series, Macomb County is known for its lakes and recreation areas. Of its 570 square miles, Macomb County consists of 89 square miles of water according to the U.S. Census Bureau.
