Aristotle Grill is located at the intersection of Hwy 6 and Hwy 59 between Verizon Wireless and Mattress Firm across from the Sugar Land Town Center.

Restaurant: Mediterranean, Greek

Mike's Recommendation: the Gyro here is a must try. The best in Sugar Land. Kabobs are good too.

I was introduced to the restaurant's gyro by a coworker who brought back a sandwich to the office for a few people to sample. I was very impressed, and grateful I no longer have to drive across Houston to another famous Greek restaurant for a good gyro.

Aristotle Grill is nicely decorated with dark hardwood built ins lined with authentic souvenirs, trendy lighting, plenty of seating, however I just want to talk about the food along with the friendly owner and family that operates the restaurant.

Upon my first visit to the establishment I was recognized as a local celebrity Realtor by the owner. He actually knew my name. I placed my order for the gyro sandwich with fries, and waited patiently at a table taking in the ambiance and decor.

While waiting for my order the owner brought a complimentary cup of hot tea. At first I refused, because it was so hot it burned just touching the glass. Not wanting to be rude I patiently waited for the drink to cool. The tea is absolutely delicious with a rich herbal and slightly sweet taste, worth the wait.

The gyro is pure indulgence with thick chunks of well seasoned meat, cooked so the edges are slightly crispy. The pita bread was fluffy and warm. The wrap is finished with shredded lettuce, tomato slices, and sauce all for under $7. The owner definitely perfected his gyro and wins my award for "Best Gyro in Sugar Land". While competitors use deli thin meat and paper thin pitas, Aristotle Grill's gyros satisfy with flavor, quality, and portions. The lightly seasoned thick cut homemade fries are also worth mentioning.

Menu items are affordable and reasonably priced. The family owned and hands on service is a nice touch.

Other items on the greek menu include: chicken or beef kabobs, hummus, salads, baklava, and plenty of other items Im forgetting, but will return to try. I also noticed Hookas. Im not sure if they are ornamental decor but that is not really my thing.

I miss this and other terrific restaurants in Houston. It seems most are indeed located on the west side of H-town.
